Champlain Orchards is a family-owned and ecologically operated orchards based in Shoreham, Vermont. They grow over 100 different varieties of apples, peaches, pears and berries. In the past few years, they have invested in making craft (hard) cider. The goal was to unify their marketing into a multi-channel strategy, build a foundation of materials, update their communication channels (print, POS, web, social, mobile) and, ultimately, grow revenue.

 

The end result was a unified content plan across Web, Social, POS, Retail and Distributors. We increased social media engagement by 50%, we increased revenue in MA by 35% and signed a new distributor for NY State.

Orchard made

 

As a family-operated agricultural business, the company has evolved over time. There was a need to elevate its brand. The website, sell sheets, social & brand images, communications with distributors, tools for wholesale, all of these items were fragmented, with no unified design guide and did not reflect the company’s values. We came in, created templates, organized marketing activities, updated social, created a content marketing strategy and (generally) kicked ass.

Farmers as fermenters.

 

All of the apples in Champlain Orchards’ hard cider are pressed, fermented, and blended on-site at the orchard. As one of the oldest continuously operating Orchards in Vermont, they take pride in growing over 100 varieties of apples, as well as peaches, pears, plums, cherries, nectarines, and berries. They are careful stewards of our land and grow their fruit following strict Eco-Apple requirements while striving to minimize our carbon footprint and sustainably contribute to the community.

Geoff helped out Champlain Orchards during a pivotal time. He made the trek to Shoreham, VT everyday. He was passionate, hard-working and understood the larger mission. His work was instrumental in setting up 'marketing' as a valuable function within the orchard. He supported all areas of the business---wholesale, consumers, fresh fruit, the cidery, everything.
